Biography of Raphael Afolabi Akinfaderin
Raphael
Afolabi Akinfaderin is an American, born in Nigeria, West Africa. He is a Yoruba
by ethnicity. Yoruba is one of the major ethnic groups of Nigeria and the most
famous for Arts and Culture. Afolabi grew up studying and practicing the
culture, arts and the religion. Akinfaderin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Concordia University, Montreal Canada and a Master of Science in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism from New York University, New York. He is a world traveler and speaks many languages including English, French and Yoruba languages. He is the President/CEO of West Africa Tourism Destination International. He is working tirelessly to promote West Africa sub-region as a Destination of Choice for Culture, Arts, Peace Conference, Leisure as well as business. Prior to his coming to USA, Afolabi worked with Nigeria Airline; serving in different capacities including Station Manager Calabar; District Manager Port Harcourt, District Manager Western Region and District Manager, Enugu. In 1985, he was promoted and sent to USA as the General Manager North America with responsibility for USA, Canada and the Caribbean. Akinfaderin is the founder/CEO of West African Tourism Destination Inc.; an organization who’s Mission is to promote African Arts, Culture and Religion through travel and tourism. He is an Instructor with Baltimore City Community College. He is also the founder and director of African Institute for Culture and Language Studies in Baltimore, Maryland. He currently lives in Baltimore and is involved in the community, teaching and advising on West African Tourism, Culture, Arts and Religion. |
